What is Chakra Yoga?
Chakra Yoga is a wonderful way to keep our energy channels active and balanced. It helps us draw requisite universal life force energy for our sustenance and dissipate negative energies like emotional toxins and bad energies back to the universe for re-cycling.
There are 7 major chakra in our auric body.
All Chakras and 72,000 naadis (energy channels) are not part of physical body and cannot be dissected or physically seen with naked eyes. These are parts of auric body.
Ida, Pingala and Sushumna naadis are the major ones. We shall discuss about these naadis little later.
Aura is an invisible electrical energy field around our physical body which keeps us protected from negative energies (like ozone layers filter out unhealthy UV rays, while allowing healthy UV rays).
Many a time our auric body gets damaged or punctured due to various reasons and get contaminated with energies which are not ours. It can happen during major surgeries when the consciousness has moved out, or during heavy menstrual periods when aura is opened up.
Our body has bio-electricity flowing in a particular way. Finger tips are high energy points. Each finger represents one element of total five elements of which our body is made of. We call it “Pancha bhoota”. The thumb represents fire, index the air, middle the space, ring the earth and the little finger the water element. For example, when we touch ring and little fingers with thumb, we combine the earth, water and fire element. This brings stability. This mudra can be a part of Root Chakra sadhana (practice).
We should keep our aura intact and chakras balanced to have a synergistic wholesome BODY-MIND.
Beeja means seed. These are one syllable words, containing tremendous sound energy.
Seven Major Chakra Positions and Colors
Red: Mooladhara (Root) chakra
Orange: Swadhisthan (Sex) chakra
Yellow: Manipura chakra (solar plexus)
Green: Anahata (Heart) chakra
Blue: Vishuddhi (Throat) chakra
Indigo: Ajna chakra (Third Eye)
Violet/white: Sahashrara (Crown) chakra
